Hazarath Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) continued the master-disciple tradition and appointed the great Imam Ali (RJ) as the ‘Maula’ to continue his work.
After the great Maula Ali, with his blessings, 4 pir and 14 khanwade (four gurus from whom 14 khanwade originated) were formed.
The four gurus that were appointed by the great Maula Ali are:
-
- Imam-e-Hasan (RJ)
- Imam-e-Hussain (RJ)
- Hazarath Kumayl bin Ziyad (RJ)
- Hazarath Hasan Basri (RJ)
From these, 14 khanwade were originated.
Sayyeduna Shaykh Abdul Khadir Jilani (Baghdad Dastagir Swamy) (رحمة الله عليه) established the Qadiriya peetham. This peetham has been home to blessings of the great Imam-e-Hasan and Imam-e-Hussain where the spiritual path of the Junaidiya, Karkhiya and Sakhatiya Saiz Khanwade is followed. Especially, when considered in terms of silsila (guru tradition), the great Imam-e-Hussain has been considered the most important.
From the great Imam-e-Hussain to the great Imam-e-Zainul Abadeen the tradition continued, and eventually through Abu Saeed Makhzoomi (رحمة الله عليه), masterhood was conferred upon Baghdad Dastagir Swamy.
The great Sri Dastagir Shah Saheb (Pirane Pir) (رحمة الله عليه) was gifted with many sons. His eldest son is Sri Abdul Wahab (رحمة الله عليه) whose son is Sri Abdul Razzaq Shah Khadri Saheb (رحمة الله عليه). He left Baghdad to travel to Bijapur in the South Indian state of Karnataka. He gained immense prominence there. Even today, this great guru’s ‘mazar’ holds huge popularity as ‘Jod Gumbad’ and is a famous spiritual and tourist spot.
His grandson, also bearing the same name, Sri Abdul Razzaq Shah Khadri Saheb (رحمة الله عليه) received great admiration and fame. Under this great saint, Sri Hazarath Abdul Gaffar Shah Khadri Saheb (رحمة الله عليه), Sri Tajuddin Baba (رحمة الله عليه) and Sri Sai Baba (رحمة الله عليه) took up discipleship. Sri Abdul Razzaq Shah Khadri Saheb (رحمة الله عليه) granted khilafat to all these disciples, decided where they will carry out Allah’s (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) work and sent them there. As per his orders, Sri Hazarath Abdul Gaffar Shah Khadri Saheb (رحمة الله عليه) came to Kamalapuram village in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh
